Rice is central to Chinese culture. Here’s some helpful tips for getting the most from your January Box!
龙并茶 Long Jing Tea (aka Dragon Tea) has a refreshing and fruity flavour. Your box includes a reusable infusing bag. Add a generous pinch or two of the tea to the bag and tie shut. ‘Wash’ the tea and pour away. Add water just below boiling temp, brew for 1-3minutes. This tea should be enjoyed when it has cooled as the flavour is thought to be better cold. For more tips see our guide below:

Your chopsticks are helpfully non-roll (so you won’t be endlessly picking them up off of the floor) with textured tips so food doesn’t slide off.
Here’s our downloadable guide to using chopsticks. Remember, the bottom stick shouldn’t move!
This panda-shaped rice kit is adorable and easy enough for kids to use. Boil your rice, lightly grease the inside of the mold then tightly press the rice into the mold. The rice Panda should easily turn out onto a plate. Then use the yellow stencils to cut out the seaweed ears, eyes and nose.
Our kids loved these panda’s filled with stir fried egg and tomato! This simple recipe is very close to how we prepare the dish in here in China.
